The structure of hyperdispersants: The molecular formula can be divided into two parts based on their characteristics and functions:
1、 Part of them are anchoring groups, such as - NR2, - NR3+, - COOH, - SO3H, - PO4H2, - SO3-, - PO42-, polyamines, polyols, and polyethers. They firmly adhere to the surface of particles through ionic bonds, covalent bonds, hydrogen bonds, and van der Waals forces, and are not easily desorbed. The anchoring segment often accounts for a small proportion in all the molecular formulas of hyperdispersants, usually 10-20%, and requires the dispersion medium to be its poor solvent.
2、 The other part is the solvation chain, which directly determines the stability of the dispersed particles in the dispersion medium. This requires the solvation chain to have good affinity for the dispersion medium, while also having sufficient carbon chain length to produce a thick solvation layer to escape the attraction between particles and have a spatially stable effect on the dispersion system.
