Silicon series leveling agent for base or intermediate paint:

There are two situations of poor adhesion: one is the adhesion problem of the primer to the substrate; The second issue is the adhesion between coatings, which is referred to as interlayer adhesion in the coating industry.

(1) Main reasons

① The surface has not been cleaned thoroughly, and there are still some substances that hinder the adhesion of polyurethane paint, such as silicone oil, grease, fat, wax, rust, and residue of polishing paste.

② The primer is not suitable.

③ Insufficient polishing of the substrate, or no polishing at all.

④ When spraying primer or topcoat, dry spraying is used, or the spraying is too thin.

⑤ When spraying metallic glitter paint, the flash time between layers is too short, or the base paint is not diluted enough.

⑥ Improper use of some silicon series leveling agents in the base paint or intermediate coating.

(2) Preventive measures

① Carefully clean the surface.

② Proper selection of primer, especially on difficult to stick surfaces such as light alloys like aluminum and engineering plastics like polyolefins.

③ Strictly follow the requirements of the paint manufacturer for construction, and form a dry spray during spraying. When spraying thick coatings, sufficient flash evaporation time must be left.

④ Please remind the paint factory to pay attention to the selection of leveling agents.

(3) Solution: Polish the areas with poor adhesion and repair them again.
