Silane coupling agent is a coupling agent with a wide range of applications and high usage. In its molecule, there are two different chemical groups that can bind with both inorganic and organic materials. Usually, it is difficult to combine organic and inorganic materials, and the special structure of silane coupling agents makes them a medium for the combination of organic and inorganic materials.

The general formula for vinyl silane coupling agent is (CH2CH) RaSiX3-a (where R is methyl alkyl, etc.); A is 0, 1; X (halogen, methoxy, ethoxy, methoxyethoxy, acetoxy, etc.) is one of the widely used types of silane coupling agents, which can be used as surface treatment agents for glass fibers and inorganic fillers, thickening agents for sealants, adhesives, coatings, crosslinking agents for polyolefins, etc. As their usage increases, it becomes particularly important to understand and study their synthesis methods to reduce production costs. Direct method refers to the method of directly reacting at a higher temperature and in the presence of a catalyst to produce alkyl halide silane. This method was discovered by American chemist Rochow in 1941. When preparing vinyl silane coupling agents using this method, the halogenated alkane containing vinyl groups is usually reacted directly with silicon powder in the presence of heating and copper catalyst.

With the increasing awareness of environmental protection and energy conservation among people, "green tires" have become popular worldwide in recent years. They not only reduce tire rolling resistance but also have strong resistance to wet slipping, becoming a trend in the development of the tire industry. How to reduce tire rolling resistance has become a research hotspot in the rubber industry

On the one hand, there is a structural change in the rubber itself, such as the development and application of solution polymerized styrene butadiene rubber;

The second is to use white carbon black filled rubber to prepare tires with good low rolling resistance and wet skid resistance that previous carbon black did not have. The dispersibility and other properties of white carbon black must be combined with silane coupling agents. Therefore, it can be said that silane coupling agent is a new type of additive developed after white carbon black became a rubber reinforcing agent. Silane coupling agents can effectively combine white carbon black fillers with rubber molecules, thereby improving the processing and mechanical properties of rubber products. With the rapid development of the rubber and tire industry, silane coupling agents have become one of the fastest growing coupling agents in the past 10 years, especially in the application of rubber mainly used in tires such as styrene butadiene rubber, natural rubber, and butadiene rubber. The types and usage techniques of silane coupling agents for rubber are as follows: the common molecular formula of silane coupling agents for rubber is RSiX, where R is a reactive organic functional group that cannot be hydrolyzed, such as epoxy, vinyl, and methacrylate groups; X is a hydrolyzable functional group.
