What chain extender is used for polyurethane elastomer MDI

There are mainly two types of chain extenders for polyurethane elastomers: diamines and diols. Among them, the most important type of diamine is MOCA. In the process of producing MOCA, a certain proportion of MDA is generally carried, and MDA is also one of the chain extenders that can be used alone. MDI synthesized from MDA can also be used as a chain extender.

The chain extender of polyurethane elastomers is also polymerized on polymer molecules, not simply physically added. Of course, during the production of polyurethane elastomers, some chain extender monomers remain in the polyurethane elastomers.

Cast polyurethane elastomer (CPU)—— It is the most widely used and produced type of polyurethane elastomer;

Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU)—— Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers account for about 25% of the total amount of polyurethane elastomers;

Mixed polyurethane elastomer (MPU)—— About 10% of the total amount of polyurethane elastomers.
