When added to coatings, it can form a special water-resistant structure on the film-forming surface of the coating (changing the contact angle), making the surface highly hydrophobic, hydrophobic, waterproof, and improving the masking effect. At the same time, it does not affect the breathability of the coating; It not only avoids the poor recoating property of organic silicon hydrophobic materials, but also avoids the situation of poor breathability of other hydrophobic agents. Make the coating have good lotus leaf double hydrophobicity, self-cleaning, hydrophobicity, waterproofness, stain resistance, scrub resistance and other properties. Mechanism of hydrophobic agent action:
The effect of non-polar functional groups (such as carbon hydrogen chains) approaching and associating with each other in aqueous solution is called "hydrophobic interaction" or "hydrophobic effect". The result of hydrophobic interactions is that there is a significant attraction between non-polar molecules or groups (i.e. hydrophobic molecules or groups) in aqueous media. But the meaning of "hydrophobic" does not refer to the repulsive interaction between such non-polar molecules (or groups) and water molecules, or the absence of van der Waals attraction; But rather, it indicates that in this system of non-polar molecules or groups with water, there exists a thermodynamic tendency for non-polar molecules or groups to self associate and escape from the aqueous medium.

Precautions for hydrophobic agents:
A、 When the addition amount is small (1-4%), the coating formula can be left unchanged and hydrophobic agents can be directly added. The modified coating has a good vertical hydrophobic effect. Don't touch your hands, it's sticky.
B、 When the addition amount is large (5-7%), the paint formula should be properly adjusted, such as reducing water consumption, reducing the amount of filler, ensuring that the solid content and color base ratio of the original paint formula remain unchanged, and finally adjusting the viscosity and PH value.
C、 Recommended dosage: 2% -6%
