Overview of TI isocyanate compounds/water absorbing stabilizers:
TI is a special functional group with high reactivity and low viscosity ester compounds. It can react with water to form inert ammonia compounds. Through this reaction, TI can eliminate trace amounts of water in the system, thus solving the problem caused by moisture in the preparation of polyurethane paint.
TI Physical and Chemical Data:
performance | numerical value | Company |
Compared to Heavy (25 ℃) | one point two nine | g/cm³ |
Color Phase (AHPH) | ≤1 | - |
Effective ingredients | ≥99 | % |
TI uses:
TI can be used as a solvent, filler, pigment, and dehydrating agent for asphalt tar during the paint making process. Its product with water generally does not react with alkyl isocyanates or aryl isocyanates and is soluble in ordinary solvents. In addition, it does not cause yellowing of the system. By using TI in the polyurethane paint system, the phenomena such as gloss loss, yellowing and reactive foam caused by moisture in the system are reduced.
TI Storage:
TI is sensitive to moisture and therefore needs to be stored dry in sealed original packaging containers. Under standardized storage, this product has a shelf life of at least six months from the date of shipment.
Packaging specifications for TI isocyanate compounds/water absorbing stabilizers:

Iron bucket | 20KG/barrel |
Application areas of TI isocyanate compounds/water absorbing stabilizers:
TI is effectively used as a dehydrating agent for solvents, fillers, pigments, etc. in both single component and traditional two-component polyurethane paint systems for wet curing. In addition, TI can also be used as a stabilizer in purified diisocyanates to prevent deterioration and discoloration.
Addition and dosage
·As a moisture curing single component packaging stabilizer, TI should be added to the finished product before canning and fully degassed before canning.
·In the traditional two-component polyurethane paint system, the filler and pigment are first dispersed in a solvent and dehydrated using TI.
·The recommended dosage for TI is 0.5-4% of the full formula (effective at 0.05-0.3% humidity). To ensure complete dehydration and degassing effects, polyols and isocyanates should be added after 24 hours.
·Excessive TI will react with polyols, so it is necessary to accurately calculate the required amount of TI based on the humidity in the system to achieve the best effect.
·To remove 1g of water from the solvent, theoretically about 12g of TI is required. However, practice has shown that excessive TI has a more significant effect, so it is better to add 24g of TI to combine 1g of water. After a few hours of treatment, this solvent can continue to be used.
