Defoamers are generally added as additives in coatings, and some proportions need to be taken into account when adding them. The most important step is dilution, which is also a crucial step. So, how can we achieve the desired effect during dilution? Below, the editor of Jianyi Chemical will give you a detailed introduction!
Steps for diluting defoamer:
1. Slowly stir the defoamer before use;
2. Weigh the water according to the dilution ratio and add a thickening agent with a water volume of 1.0-2.5%, and stir evenly to form a transparent viscous liquid;
3. Then add the thickening water to the concentrated defoamer, slowly stir and mix until no obvious lumps appear, and add an appropriate amount of preservative.
If you want to dilute the product to half of its original concentration, such as diluting 500kg of defoamer to 1000kg, you can adopt the following method: take 492.5kg of water and pour it into a mixing pot, then slowly pour 7.5kg of acrylic acid thickener into the water and stir thoroughly. After the thickener is fully dissolved and dispersed, adjust the pH to 7~8, and slowly pour it into the concentrated ND-130M defoamer product. The thickened water should be mixed slowly while adding it. After mixing evenly (mixing time is about 5min, rotating speed is 20~30rpm), finally add 3kg35 type preservative (made by our institute). If it is necessary to store for a long time after dilution, add 2kgDB type preservative, which can be qualified after inspection.
