I believe everyone has heard of the use of crosslinking agents. They are a type of small molecule compound with a molecular weight generally between 200-600, and have two or more reactive ends targeting specific functional groups. They can be coupled separately with two or more molecules to bind them together. In life science research, clever use of crosslinking agents can lead to breakthroughs in many fields.

At present, crosslinking agents have been widely used in:Research on cell membrane structure, protein structure, protein-protein interactions, biological missiles, connection between carrier proteins and haptens, solid-phase immobilization of proteins or other molecules, labeling of antibodies, label transfer, and connection between proteins and nucleic acids.

Characteristics of crosslinking agents:The variety is the largest, with up to 86 mature products that can meet various coupling needs. Covalent crosslinking can be achieved under physiological conditions, and the crosslinking reaction is fast and simple. Multiple reactive groups are available for selection, and the reaction direction can be either specific or non-specific. Containing arms of different lengths, effectively reducing spatial hindrance effects. Some products have built-in cleavable functional groups, greatly enhancing the flexibility of crosslinking agent applications.
