Crosslinking agent, also known as curing agent, hardening agent, or curing agent, can transform linear or lightly branched macromolecules into a three-dimensional network structure, thereby improving strength, heat resistance, wear resistance, solvent resistance, and other properties. It can be used for foamed or non foamed products.

Common crosslinking agents are organic peroxides

 

① Diisopropylbenzene peroxide (DCP)

The most commonly used, with a density of 1.08 grams per cubic centimeter, a melting point of 42 ℃, a decomposition temperature of 120-125 ℃, a refractive index of 1.54, and a half-life of 10 hours at 17 ℃. It is often used in combination with zinc oxide to improve strength and aging resistance.

② Benzoyl peroxide (BPO)

White powder, melting point 103-106 ℃, extremely unstable, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in organic solvents.

 

③ Di tert butyl peroxide (DTBP)

A slightly yellow transparent liquid with a density of 0.8 grams per cubic centimeter, boiling point of 110 ℃, ignition point of 183 ℃, and refractive index of 1.4126 ℃. Its half-life is 10 hours.

 

④ Diisopropylbenzene hydroperoxide

Light yellow liquid, easily decomposed when heated or in contact with acid or alkali.

There is also diethylenetriamine (DTA), also known as diethylenetriamine, a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 207 ℃, a density of 0.954 grams per cubic centimeter, a refractive index of 1.5, and a flash point of 94 ℃. It is commonly used in epoxy resins and is generally added in an amount of 5% to 10%.

 

⑤ 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di-tert-butyl peroxyhexane

Abbreviated as Double 25, there are two types of products, one is a light yellow liquid with a purity of 90% and a density of 0.85 grams per cubic centimeter; Another type is a white powder with a purity of 50%, with a decomposition temperature of 179 ℃ (half-life of 1 minute) and 118 ℃ (half-life of 10 hours).
