1、 Coatings and inks
Synthetic synthetic rubber and resin coatings often encounter adhesion problems on hydrophilic silicate and metallic surfaces, especially in high tide, water, or salt environments. The protective effect of the coating relies on the adhesion promoter on the substrate surface. Whether used as a coating additive or primer, silane coupling agents can improve the performance of the coating.
2、 Fiberglass composite material
Glass fiber greatly increases the physical strength of composite materials, even achieving a comparable effect to metals. All glass fiber reinforced material manufacturers use processed products to achieve good product performance, and coupling agents are still the preferred choice. Silane coupling agents are most commonly used in the treatment of glass fiber composite materials and are a key component of glass fiber reinforced polymers.
3、 Wire and cable
Vinylsilane has been used in cross-linked polyethylene homopolymers and copolymers since the 1970s, while silicone crosslinked polyethylene is used as insulation material and sheath for wires and cables, suitable for high temperature resistance. This technology is also applied in the manufacturing of hot water pipeline materials, which can withstand high temperatures for a long time.
4、 Drilling (oil well sand consolidation)
Chemical sand consolidation agents usually use various resins and gel with strong cohesive force as main agents, supplemented by coupling agents, diluents, emulsifiers and other additives. These additives are used in small quantities, but they have a significant impact on the quality of sand consolidation.
Silane coupling agent is used for adhesives.
5、 Sealing glue
Silicon coupling agents have been widely used to improve the sealing performance of sealants and enhance their adhesion to inorganic materials such as metal, glass, and stone. Silane can reduce moisture at the interface of adhesives or materials, promote bonding, and improve performance; It can also be used for crosslinking polymers such as acrylic acid, polyether, polyurethane, and polyester.
6、 Rubber and elastomer
With the increasing demand in the market for the production of various colors of synthetic rubber other than black, and the requirement for them to have mechanical properties similar to carbon black formulations, silane undoubtedly plays an important role in effectively combining inorganic fillers and organic elastomers.
7、 Textile chemicals (organic silicon finishing agents)
Used for the synthesis of silicone oil and silicone lotion to provide comfort, softness and smoothness for fabrics. Give the fabric a soft and beautiful feeling or "feel", improve tear strength and durability; According to the formula design, silane can also be used to enhance waterproofing or improve water absorption, improve elasticity recovery, wrinkle resistance, and wear resistance.
