Concrete release agent is an auxiliary agent applied to the formwork before pouring concrete to prevent the hardened concrete from bonding with the formwork.

Is oil based or water-based release agent used for concrete release?

混凝土脱模剂一般用哪种

Oil based release agents used on concrete can cause pollution and should not be used; Most of them are water-based release agents used as concrete release agents, which can be repeatedly applied for about 10 layers with one coat, making it easy to reapply. Generally, for a 30 story high-rise building, two coats can be applied on site until the top is sealed.

Instructions for using concrete release agent:

1. Clean the template thoroughly, without rust or concrete scale.

2. Apply the release agent evenly onto the mold, or spray directly onto the mold using a spraying method. After drying, pour the concrete.

3. The template for applying release agent should be protected from rain before use. If it is exposed to rain, the release agent should be reapplied.

4. When using steel molds, if they are not used for a long time, they should be coated several times before placement to prevent rusting of the template.

The use of concrete release agent is simple, inexpensive, and pollution-free. The use of release agent can significantly improve the quality of the project, reduce the project cost, protect the formwork, and extend the service life of the formwork.
