The use of water-based release agent is designed for special molding and forming processes, and it is an auxiliary agent for the production of rubber and plastic products. Mainly used in products formed by molds such as rubber, composite materials, polyurethane, plastics, etc. When selecting a suitable release agent, consideration should be given to the type of formula, processing temperature, machine used, processing cycle time, product style, and mold design. Water based release agents can form a uniform release film on the surface of the mold, allowing the molded product to be released.

Why can water-based release agents form a uniform release film on the surface of the mold, allowing the molded product to release?

The adhesion between rubber and mold surfaces is generally believed to be caused by two factors. Firstly, the surface of the mold is usually covered by a very thin or even monolayer water film, which reacts with isocyanates to produce strong adhesion. Secondly, adhesion is caused by the chemical bonds formed by the reaction between the polar groups on the inner surface of the mold and the polar groups of polyurethane and polyurethane. In order to make the product easy to demold, it is necessary to have a dense and smooth film on the surface of the mold. The film must not react with the raw materials, have a certain degree of adhesion to the mold, and have a certain degree of flexibility. Spray the effective demolding substance (usually an inert substance) evenly onto the mold through a medium (water), and after the medium (water) evaporates, a smooth film is formed, thus achieving the demolding effect.

Release agents are formulated to provide the necessary functions within the variable range of molding and forming processes. Affected by various factors in processing, release agents play the role of intermediates, balancing their functions with the characteristics that best meet the requirements of the industry.

The basic components of water-based release agents include different types of wax, resin, oil, silicone oil, and proprietary additives that can enhance, control, or maintain product functionality, stability, and service life. Its main function is to help rubber and plastic products be removed from the mold, and to maintain the integrity and post-processing of the product. The release agent used for rubber and plastic products is mainly an external release agent.
