Carbon fiber composite materials, based on their high strength, light texture, and different processes, will continue to develop according to the differences in application objects or the characteristics and applications of different materials, in order to maximize the special properties of carbon fiber. Next, the editor of Jianyi Chemical will borrow carbon fiber composite materialsRelease agentOn the topic of which molding processes are applicable, briefly explain the carbon fiber molding process and its applications:
1. High temperature compression molding
Firstly, apply the release agent of carbon fiber composite material onto the mold, then place the carbon fiber prepreg between the upper and lower molds. When closing the mold, place it on the hydraulic platform for high-temperature and high-pressure molding operation to cure the resin, and then remove the carbon fiber product. This molding technology has the advantages of high efficiency, good product quality, and high precision, and is suitable for molding composite material products with high strength and mass production.
Although the high-temperature compression molding process has a long history of application, it is still a highly applicable carbon fiber molding process in China and is irreplaceable in industrial component manufacturing. Due to its good fiber infiltration, controllable resin content, and long service life, the factory can produce at least 50000 to 80000 pieces annually in a favorable production environment with precise product dimensions, short molding cycles, and excellent strength performance. Widely used in high-speed rail internal and external, aerospace and other fields.
2. Hand laid molding
Apply release agent and spray adhesive coating on the surface of the mold, lay the cut carbon fiber prepreg on the surface of the mold, and then brush it with resin products. When the required thickness is reached, it is molded and cured, and finally demolded.
In today's technologically advanced world, the hand lay up process still has a foothold in the market and is widely used in fields such as petrochemical containers, storage tanks, and automotive shells. However, the manual pasting process mainly relies on workers, and the quality of all products produced is generally unstable and the production efficiency is low.
3. Hot press molding
Firstly, apply a layer of release agent on the surface of the mold. Then, place the composite material blank formed by laying a single layer of prepreg in the predetermined direction in a hot press tank, cover it with adhesive felt, porous anti sticking cloth (film), breathable felt, and seal it in a vacuum bag. Then, vacuum is removed at a certain pressure and temperature to complete the curing process. Hot press molding is a specialized pressure vessel that can withstand and regulate temperature and pressure ranges. Widely used in the manufacturing of aircraft doors, onboard radar covers, fairings, wings, brackets, tail fins, and other fields
4. Wrapping Forming
The process of winding continuous fibers or cloth strips impregnated with resin adhesive onto a core mold according to a certain pattern, and then curing and using carbon fiber composite material release agent to become composite material products. Carbon fiber winding molding can fully utilize its high specific strength, high specific modulus, and low density characteristics, and can be used to manufacture cylindrical, spherical, and certain positive curvature rotating or cylindrical carbon fiber products.
