The importance of release agents in the molding process of fiberglass products

Regardless of the molding process used for fiberglass products, release agents must be used. If the mold is the body, then the release agent is the soul, and it is a significant auxiliary material in the production process of fiberglass products. In order for the product to be smoothly demolded, in addition to having a reasonable mold structure, the product also needs to have no mold taper. When the vertical surface is large or has a reverse taper that affects the concave and convex parts of the demolding, a segmented combination mold should be used. Release agents are also divided into external release agents and internal release agents. Today, the editor will talk about external release agents, also known as release agents. Their function is to prevent the molded product from adhering to the mold, so as to apply a layer of isolation film between the mold and the product so that the product can be easily removed from the mold. At the same time, it can ensure the quality of the product and prevent damage to the mold.

脱模剂在玻璃钢制品成型过程中的重要性

As is well known, synthetic resins have good adhesion, and even if the mold surface is very smooth, if demolding materials are not used, the product will still adhere to the mold. To achieve smooth and rapid demolding of the product, effective demolding materials must be used. Improper selection can not only cause trouble during construction, but also result in damage to the product and mold to a certain extent, directly causing cost losses. So, the release agent must meet the following conditions:

1. Non corrosive mold

2. Does not affect resin curing

3. Easy to use

4. Short curing time

5. High demolding brightness

6. Safe operation, non-toxic to human body

7. Low demolding force

When choosing a release agent, the following two conditions should also be considered:

1. The molding time of release agent and the molding cycle of the product

2. Mold materials, curing conditions, and resin types
