There are many types of defoamers, which are also used in many industries, and the selection of defoamers varies for different industries. The same excellent defoamer must give consideration to both defoaming and inhibiting effects, that is, it should not only quickly destroy foam, but also prevent foam formation for a long time. Next, the editor of Jianyi Chemical will give you a detailed introduction to the main working principle of defoamers and the precautions when using them!

消泡剂的工作原理以及使用注意事项

The working principle of defoamer:

All factors that can destroy the stability of foam can be used as defoamers, which must be liquid easy to spread on the solution surface. When spreading on the solution surface, this liquid will take away a layer of solution on the adjacent surface, making the liquid film locally thin, so the liquid film will break and the foam will be destroyed. In general, the faster the defoamer spreads on the solution surface, the thinner the liquid film will become and the critical thickness will be reached quickly. The foam will be destroyed faster and the defoaming effect will be strengthened. Generally, the liquid that can spread on the surface and play the role of defoaming has low surface tension and is easy to be adsorbed on the solution surface, reducing the local surface tension of the solution surface, causing imbalance and bursting of foam.

Precautions for using defoamers:

1. When diluting the defoamer, please add water to the defoamer and stir slowly

2. Since the lotion is the most stable at the original concentration, the diluted lotion must be used up in a short time

3. Lotion needs to be fully stirred before use or sampling

4. Oil in water lotion can be diluted at will, but at the same time, the stability of lotion will also decline sharply, such as stratification

5. Defoamer lotion is resistant to frost and temperature higher than 40&Deg; C are sensitive and easily damaged

6. Prevent frost! The frozen lotion can be carefully defrosted, but it must be tested before further use

7. Long time strong oscillation or strong shearing (such as using mechanical pump, homogenizer, etc.) or stirring will destroy the stability of lotion

8. Increasing the viscosity of lotion or adding thickening agent can improve the stability of lotion
