Tyzor® 115 hydrolyzes with water to form zirconium hydroxy chelate. The chelate is stable in water for a long time. Pro-chelates or hydrolyzed chelates can form cross-links with many organic polymer materials and the -OH or -COOH groups of carbohydrates (such as cellulose, starch, guar) form. The product can also be used as a bonding aid on hydroxyl functionalized surfaces through a similar mechanism.
Oil well fracturing fluid
Tyzor® 115 is an effective cross-linking agent in the dispersion of guar gum and its derivatives, forming a high-viscosity hydrogel used in oil well fracturing applications. Tyzor® 115 is usually used in liquids with a pH of 8.5-10. It is a delayed cross-linking agent that starts cross-linking at about 130º F (55 ° C).
Inks, paints and coatings
Tyzor® 115 crosslinks polymers and adhesives in solvents and water-based coatings and printing inks. The benefits are increased oil film strength, adhesion promotion and rheological control. Tyzor® 115 has good water resistance compatibility and low color generation, and can play a good role in a wide range of pH values. Pigment surface modification can also be achieved.
For cross-linking reactions, Tyzor® 115 is usually added to the polymer or binder as the last ingredient. The time for gel formation depends on the polymer, temperature, pH, strength of brine, titanic acid concentration, etc. Tyzor® 115 may have a temperature requirement in terms of characteristically activated curing.
