Crude oil demulsifier

Crude oil demulsifier is a chemical additive that plays a key role in industries such as petroleum extraction, petroleum refining, and wastewater treatment. The following is a detailed introduction about crude oil demulsifiers:

1、 Definition and Function

definitionCrude oil demulsifier is a surfactant that can destroy emulsions. Its main function is to separate oil and water in emulsified oil-water mixtures through its chemical action, achieving the purpose of crude oil dehydration.

function

  1. Demulsification effectBy partially replacing the stabilizing membrane to disrupt the emulsion, oil-water separation can be achieved.

  2. Dehydration effectCan remove moisture from crude oil and heavy oil to achieve the required moisture content.

  3. Reduce crude oil viscosityUsing it in oil wells can reduce the viscosity of crude oil and prevent well blockage.

2、 Product Features

  1. Appearance and physical propertiesCrude oil demulsifiers typically appear as light yellow to brown liquids with specific densities (0.9~1.1g/ml) and kinematic viscosities (typically less than 100mm ²/s at 20 ℃).

  2. chemical propertyThe pH value is generally maintained within the range of 5-9, and the solid content (i.e. the content of active ingredients) is generally required to be no less than 30%.

  3. Functional natureThe essence of demulsification is to make the crude oil demulsifier adsorb to the oil-water interface, replace or neutralize the emulsifier, reduce the interfacial tension of the emulsified water drop and the strength of the interfacial facial mask, make the emulsion unstable, and thus realize oil-water separation. High quality crude oil demulsifiers usually require a desalination rate of not less than 80%, and a relative dehydration rate of over 90%.

3、 Production process

  1. Raw material preparationCollect the required chemical raw materials, including surfactants, dispersants, additives, etc.

  2. Mixing of ingredientsMix chemical raw materials together according to a certain formula and proportion.

  3. Mixed reactionSend the mixed raw materials into a reaction vessel for reaction, generating a new compound with dispersing and demulsification properties.

  4. Filtering and PurificationFilter and purify the mixed solution after the reaction to remove impurities and unreacted raw materials.

4、 Application and Addition Quantity

Crude oil demulsifiers are mainly used in the process of oil extraction and processing, especially before electric desalting tanks. Its addition amount is usually 50-100ppm. By quickly dispersing to the oil-water interface, the interfacial tension is reduced, causing water droplets to rupture, aggregate and grow, settle to the bottom of the tank, and separate from the oil.

5、 Packaging and Storage

Crude oil demulsifiers are usually packaged in galvanized iron drums, with a net weight of 180kg per drum. During storage, attention should be paid to preventing the product from being exposed to sunlight and rain to maintain its stability and effectiveness. The shelf life of the product is generally 12 months, and it should be used within the validity period.

6、 Safety and Environmental Protection

When using crude oil demulsifiers, appropriate safety measures should be followed to avoid direct contact with the skin and inhalation of their vapors. In the production and application process, attention should be paid to reducing the generation of hazardous waste and ensuring the environmental friendliness of the production process.
