1、 Definition and Structure

Aziridine crosslinking agent, as a special crosslinking agent, has good crosslinking performance, can be miscible with water and various organic solvents, and can also react in a dry state. Its structural formula is usually C24H41N3O6 (refer to Article 2).

2、 Physical properties

Aziridine crosslinking agents typically appear as colorless to pale yellow liquids with a solid content greater than 99%, and have low viscosity (typically 180-220mPas at 25 ℃) and a suitable pH value (8-10.5). In addition, its freezing point is about -15 ℃, and its boiling point is much higher than 200 ℃ (polymerization). This crosslinking agent can be completely dissolved in common solvents such as water, alcohols, ketones, esters, etc. (refer to Articles 3 and 4).

3、 Chemical properties and applications

Crosslinking reactionAziridine crosslinking agent can react with carboxyl groups at room temperature, making it an ideal crosslinking agent for carboxyl containing systems with multifunctionality. It can also undergo cross-linking reaction with amino groups under strong acid catalysis (refer to articles 3 and 4).

It is widely used in water-based wood coatings, leather coatings, textile printing adhesives, and other fields.

4、 Usage and Storage

The dosage of aziridine crosslinking agent is usually 1% -3% of the solid content of acrylic acid or polyurethane. It can be cured at room temperature or by heating and baking. When in use, it should be slowly added to the evenly stirred coating system (refer to Articles 3 and 4). During storage, the product should be stored in a dark, dry and ventilated room temperature environment. Once the barrel is opened, it should be closed as soon as possible to avoid gel caused by contact with air (refer to article 1).

5、 Security Information

Although aziridine crosslinking agent is an environmentally friendly crosslinking agent that releases no formaldehyde or other substances after crosslinking, it is only used in industrial production. Industrial producers should wear specialized masks or operate in upwind areas to avoid skin and eye contact. If there is any discomfort, immediately rinse with clean water and seek medical attention (refer to Article 1).
