Functional properties of Tyzor ® ZEC zirconate chelate:
Tyzor ® ZEC zirconate chelate reacts with water to hydrolyze and form active hydroxy titanium chelate. The alkoxy group reacts very quickly, while the chelating group provides delayed crosslinking, which can be accelerated by temperature (above 60 ℃). High activity promotes Tyzor ® ZEC is an efficient adhesion promoter and crosslinking agent, especially for 0H or COOH groups, inorganic substrates, and metals.
Tyzor ® ZEC zirconate chelate is a good crosslinking agent and adhesion promoter in NC and other solvent based printing inks, especially on PE, PP, polyester, and aluminum foil substrates used for flexible packaging. Compared to other products, it has the advantages of low odor, low color change, improved painting quality, accelerated drying rate, and resistance to solvents and high temperatures. Aluminum foil and film require corona treatment.

Micro or nano scale titanium dioxide pigments can be obtained from Tyzor ® Formed in ZEC zirconate chelates. It can also be used to produce polymeric titanium dioxide surface films through pyrolysis or hydrolysis processes.
Tyzor ® ZEC Zirconium Chelate Usage Guide:
Tyzor ® ZEC zirconate chelate is usually formulated with other ingredients when used as a crosslinking agent and adhesion promoter. Titanium esters are usually added as the final ingredient to prevent unnecessary pre reactions with water or other components. The time of crosslinking or gel formation depends on several factors, including formula composition, temperature, pH value and titanate concentration.
