Dynasylan ® AMMO 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane is developed and produced by Evonik Degussa AG, and is a bifunctional silane with active primary amino groups and hydrolyzable methoxysilane groups. This dual reactivity makes Dynasylan ® AMMO can form chemical bonds on both inorganic materials (such as glass, metal, fillers) and organic polymers (such as thermosetting resins, thermoplastic resins, synthetic rubber), and is therefore used as an adhesion promoter and surface modifier. Dynasylan ® AMMO 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane is a colorless and transparent liquid with a similar ammonia odor. It can dissolve in alcohols, aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons.

In the presence of water, the methoxy group of Dynasylan ® AMMO 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane undergoes hydrolysis, generating active silanol groups (Si OH) that can react with many inorganic substances to form bonds. The hydrophobic amino groups on Dynasylan ® AMMO can react with suitable polymers. Dynasylan ® AMMO 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane undergoes hydrolysis under autocatalytic conditions, and the pH value of the hydrolysis product is approximately 10-11.
Suitable inorganic materials can include glass, glass fiber, glass wool, asbestos, silicic acid, quartz, quartz, calcium silicate, mica, as well as aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, kaolin, talc powder, other silicate fillers, metal oxides, and metals.
Dynasylan ® AMMO 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane is suitable for polymers such as epoxy, phenolic, furan and melamine resins, polyurethane PA、PBT、PC、EVA, Modified PP PVB、PVAC、PVC、PS、 Nitrile rubber, polyester, acrylic resin, and silicone resin.
Dynasylan ® AMMO 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane can react with ketone or ether solvents. Silane or siliconized materials can react with carbon dioxide to produce corresponding carbonates and/or amino esters. Product modification can be carried out by reacting with suitable monomers or polymers (such as isocyanates, epoxides, etc.).
