DYNASYLAN ® BSA N, O-bis (trimethylsilyl) acetamide (also known as:Silane coupling agent BSA,Adhesive BSA) Developed and produced by Evonik Degussa AG, it is a highly effective silylating agent in the silazane series. It is commonly used in the synthesis of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The siliconization reaction of DYNASYLAN ® BSA results in the generation of only neutral byproducts. DYNASYLAN ® BSA N, O-bis (trimethylsilyl) acetamide is a transparent, pale yellow liquid that is soluble in many polar and non-polar solvents.

Trimethylsilyl groups are often used as single functional group blocking groups for organic and inorganic materials. Due to the elimination of neutral acetamide by siliconization reaction, DYNASYLAN ® BSA can be used for substances that are sensitive to acids and bases.

DYNASYLAN ® BSA N, O-bis (trimethylsilyl) acetamide can react with some protonated substances such as alcohols, phenols, carboxylic acids, amino acids, hydrocarbons, thiols, and amines. And generate silyl derivatives by eliminating acetamide. The siliconization reaction is usually carried out by adding an equal or excessive amount of DYNASYLAN ® BSA N, O-bis (trimethylsilyl) acetamide, completed under heating and reflux conditions. Suitable solvents are acetonitrile or DMF. Adding trimethylchlorosilane can accelerate the rate of siliconization reaction. The yield of siliconization reaction is usually very high and can often be quantified. DYNASYLAN ® BSA N, O-bis (trimethylsilyl) acetamide reacts with water or acid, and metal inhibitors catalyze the formation of hexamethyldisiloxane and acetonitrile.
