Dynasylan ® GLYEO 3-glycidyl ether propyl triethoxysilane (Also known as:Silane coupling agent GLYEO,Adhesive GLYEO）Developed and produced by Evonik Degussa AG, it is a bifunctional silane with active organic epoxy groups and hydrolyzable triethoxysilane groups. This dual reactivity makes Dynasylan ® GLYEO can form chemical bonds on both inorganic materials (such as glass, metal, fillers) and organic polymers (such as thermosetting resins, thermoplastic resins, synthetic rubber), thus having the functions of adhesion promoter, crosslinking agent, and/or surface modifier. Dynasylan ® GLYEO 3-glycidyl ether propyl triethoxysilane is a colorless, low viscosity liquid with a turpentine like odor. It can dissolve in alcohols, ketones, aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons.

In the presence of water, the ethoxy (- OCH2CH3) group of Dynasylan ® GLYEO 3-glycidyl ether propyl triethoxysilane undergoes hydrolysis, producing ethanol and active silanol (- Si OH), which can react with many inorganic media to form bonds.
The glycidyl group of the organophilic compound on Dynasylan ® GLYEO 3-glycidyl ether propyl triethoxysilane can react with suitable polymers. The catalyst for Dynasylan ® GLYEO 3-glycidyl ether propyl triethoxysilane is an organic acid such as acetic acid. Suitable inorganic materials can include glass, glass fiber, glass wool, asbestos, silicic acid, quartz, sand, quartz, calcium silicate, mica, as well as aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, kaolin, talc powder, other silicate fillers, metals, and their oxides.
