Dynasylan ® MEMO 3-methylacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (Also known as:Silane coupling agent MEMO,Crosslinking agent MEMO,Thickener MEMO)Developed and produced by Evonik Degussa AG, it is a methacryloyl functional silane. It can be used as an adhesion promoter and surface modifier, as well as a common monomer and crosslinking agent for polymer synthesis. Dynasylan ® MEMO 3-methylacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane is a colorless, transparent liquid. It can dissolve in alcohols, aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons.

In the presence of water, the alkoxy group of Dynasylan ® MEMO 3-methylacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane undergoes hydrolysis (using a suitable catalyst such as acetic acid) to generate methanol and active silanol groups (Si OH), which can react with many inorganic substrates to form bonds. Its methacryloyl group can interact with polymers. Suitable inorganic materials can include glass, glass fiber, glass wool, asbestos, silicic acid, quartz, quartz, calcium silicate, mica, as well as aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, kaolin, talc powder, other silicate fillers, metal oxides, and metals.
Dynasylan ® MEMO 3-methylacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane is suitable for polymers including unsaturated polyester, acrylic ester, and vinyl ester.

Dynasylan ® MEMO 3-methylacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane is used as an adhesion promoter in many fields, such as:
• A component of fiberglass treatment coating (unsaturated polyester resin and polyolefin based fiberglass filler)
• Used as a post-treatment coating in unsaturated polyester resin in fiberglass composites
• Surface improvement of pigments and fillers for thermosetting materials (unsaturated polyester, MMA), thermoplastic materials (polyester and polyolefin), and synthetic rubber
• As an additive applied to filled, peroxide crosslinked synthetic rubber
• An additive for casting resin (unsaturated polyester, MMA)
Dynasylan ® MEMO 3-methylacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane can be applied to the pretreatment of inorganic materials through immersion coating or spray coating, or directly added to resin masterbatch (addition process). For pretreatment, silane can be applied in the following ways:
• Individual application
• Dissolve in organic solvents
• Dissolved in a mixture of organic solvents and water, partially hydrolyzed
• Completely hydrolyzed in aqueous solvents
To prepare an aqueous pretreatment solution, 1-5% Dynasylan ® MEMO 3-methylacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane is dissolved in water and the pH is adjusted to 3-4 using acetic acid. After complete hydrolysis of silane, the solution will become clear, with clear Dynasylan ® The hydrolysate of MEMO 3-methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane must be used within 1-2 days. If it becomes cloudy again, it cannot continue to be used.
