 Dynasylan ® PTEO propyl triethoxysilane is a colorless, low viscosity liquid. Dynasylan ® PTEO propyl triethoxysilane is considered to have triple functionality because all three alkoxy groups can be hydrolyzed. Dynasylan ® PTEO propyltriethoxysilane contains a propyl group, which makes the sol gel coating hydrophobic. The silicon hydroxyl group generated by hydrolysis, followed by condensation reaction, achieves the formation of very stable silicon oxygen bonds (- Si-O-Si -). Once a certain amount of silanol groups are generated, the condensation and hydrolysis reactions proceed in parallel. The absolute and relative hydrolysis rates, as well as the degree of condensation, are determined by a series of factors. The main factors are pH value, concentration, solvent, temperature, and catalyst.
