Platinum, commonly known as platinum, belongs to the platinum group element, chemical symbol: Pt, and is one of the precious metals. Molecular weight 195.05.
The preparation methods of platinum catalysts have been detailed in many papers and books, but here we will only introduce the general preparation methods of platinum catalysts.
Add 20 parts of sodium carbonate and 50 parts of ethanol to 10 parts of chloroplatinic acid and 20 parts of 1,3-divinyltetramethyldisiloxane, stir and reflux the mixture for 30 minutes, ensuring that the reaction temperature does not exceed 70 ℃. Then let it stand for 15 hours, filter and distill the mixture under reduced pressure to remove low boiling materials, and obtain 17 parts of liquid. This is the platinum divinyltetramethyldisiloxane complex catalyst. This type of catalyst can be selected with different carrier liquids as needed, such as xylene, octamethyltetrasiloxane, linear siloxane, cyclic siloxane, etc. Platinum catalysts are prepared using chloroplatinic acid, which contains Pt4+. The high activity of platinum catalysts comes from Pt0. Some people believe that platinum catalysts are used in hydrosilylation reactions, where the reduction of vinyl groups on Si reduces the high valence platinum of platinum chloride to zero valent platinum.
Structure of Platinum Catalyst
Platinum catalyst is a complex formed by platinum in its zero valent state with divinyltetramethyldisilane.
