Chemours employees celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by conducting volunteer projects across the United States

Hundreds of volunteers participated in the 5th Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Day annual service event of Chemours Corporation.

Company employees voluntarily participated in events held in Delaware, New Jersey, and Mississippi today, marking the fifth edition of the Camry Martin eventLutherPart of the annual service event for the Golden Jubilee Day.

Today's event is directly related to the company's broader corporate responsibility commitment plan and its 10 grand goals (covering humanity, the planet, and a more sustainable product portfolio). By 2030, Chemours Corporation will invest  million in the communities where it operates for safety, sustainability, and education programs, and most of today's events are aimed at this goal.

 

Today, hundreds of KOMOOC workers' unions are providing volunteer services at over a dozen events across the country. Today's activities include the following:

 

In Wilmington, Delaware, Comus engineers and technical experts will receive 50 Scouts at the company headquarters and conduct a series of scientific experiments and discussions with them to help them obtain the Chemistry Talent Badge.
In another part of Wilmington, the company will work with the Wilmington City Government and its Mayor Michael Purzycki to hold events for local children at 76ers Fieldhouse. This activity includes information about Martin· Luther· Jin's speech, Zunba class, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities were hosted by Jacqueline Means, known locally as the "STEM Queen".

 

In addition, Chemours employees will also paint murals and write inspiring words to help decorate Newcastle County's' Family Promise 'facility, which provides transitional housing for families in need.

 

In Pence Grove and Wilmington, New Jersey, employees from the Como Chambers factory and headquarters will assemble 150 STEM themed reading and writing toolkits and donate them to local primary and secondary school students.
In Middletown, Delaware, the Comrades Union provides lunch for residents of Victory Village, a transitional shelter for homeless veterans.
