Is there a relationship between the delamination of the adhesive coating on the surface of the mold and the release agent?

To be honest, the delamination of the adhesive coating on the surface of the mold is related to the release agent.

Firstly, we need to understand that the phenomenon of delamination of the mold coating is objectively present, commonly referred to as the "pre release film" of the coating, which not only occurs on the molding mold but also on the original mold. There are many reasons for the pre release film of adhesive clothing:

1. The product solidifies too quickly, causing the adhesive layer to become brittle;

2. Improper use of release agent, excessive pulling and pulling on the back of the product during demolding, resulting in peeling of the adhesive layer;

3. The layer of adhesive coating is not compacted;

4. There are impurities on the surface of the mold.

In addition to the reasons listed above, there are actually many other reasons that the editor will not go into detail here. Next, the editor would like to talk about the situation where adhesive clothing is excessively cured. This includes the use of excessive curing agent MEKP, excessive curing or thickness of the adhesive coating, or shrinkage caused by temperature differences, which can exacerbate the phenomenon of detachment. A common mistake is to spray the adhesive coating the night before and then apply a resin layer the next day.

Compared with traditional paste wax, the surface friction coefficient of most solvent based release agents is relatively low, especially in the case of transition curing of the adhesive coating, which is more prone to pre release. You can also understand it as: the performance of the release agent is too good, but the main reason is that the adhesive coating was not operated according to the specifications.

At this point, many users may ask: Can we reduce the probability of pre detachment of the adhesive film? Certainly. When choosing a release agent, it is even more important to be cautious. If all factors other than the release agent are excluded, high-quality mold cleaning agents can be used to gently wipe the mold cavity, thereby slightly changing the surface tension of the mold to reduce the probability of pre release of the adhesive coating.
