Release agent is a functional auxiliary material between the product and the mold. It is a type of processing aid that can prevent rubber, plastic, elastomer or other materials from sticking to the mold and play an easy demolding role. Due to the rapid development of molding, hand pasting, extrusion and other processes, the amount of mold release agent has gradually increased significantly.

What is the function of release agent?
 
The main function of release agent is to remove the product from the mold cavity. After applying release agent on the high-temperature surface of the mold, a thin film can be formed to protect the mold surface, prevent the product from sticking to the mold, reduce the impact force on the mold during product forming, reduce the wear of the product and the mold, and provide lubrication; In addition, the temperature of each part of the mold can be adjusted to maintain the temperature balance of the mold, improve the formability of the product, thereby increasing the mold life and ensuring the quality of the product to a certain extent.
 

What are the usage methods and precautions for release agents?
 
1. Regarding the usage method, first thoroughly clean the mold with an appropriate amount of mold cleaner to remove residual mold release agent/wax, etc. Then use vegetable or cotton cloth dipped in mold release agent to evenly apply it to the mold, and then place the pre formed semi-finished product on a hydraulic press table for hot pressing, and finally perform mold release treatment;
 
2. Regarding water quality, the release agent must be mixed with clean and pure water. If the container or water quality in which the release agent is stored is contaminated, it can easily cause the release agent to deteriorate, directly affecting the effectiveness of its use and release, resulting in a decrease in product qualification rate;

3. Regarding the usage time, attention should be paid to the factory time and shelf life of the release agent. Once the lid is opened, the release agent should be used up as soon as possible, especially in hot weather environments. It is necessary to prevent the release agent from deteriorating.
