Evonik is taking the next step towards commercializing biosurfactants: with its fermentation technology, this specialty chemical company has become the world's first company to invest in industrial scale production of biosurfactants.

Evonik and Unilever have teamed up to launch a new hand wash dishwashing liquid on the market, which is developed based on Evonik's biosurfactant technology.

This summer, Unilever successfully launched a product in ChileQuix "is the brand's dishwashing liquid product, which is the first time that rhamnolipids have been used in household cleaning products worldwide. Evonik rhamnolipid is a biosurfactant produced by fermentation, which has excellent foam formation and excellent cleaning effect, meeting the needs of Unilever consumers. Meanwhile, due to the fact that rhamnolipids are derived from natural sugars and are 100% biodegradable, they have excellent environmental benefits.

Evonik stands out in the market with its commercial scale production capacity, becoming a pioneer in the field of biosurfactants and effectively grasping the future growth opportunities of the biosurfactant market. FollowingAfter Veramaris (a joint venture between DSM and Evonik that produces seaweed oil rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which helps protect marine biodiversity), biological surface activity has become another industry disruptor in Evonik's innovative product portfolio.

Until now, the situation has changed. That's why we are very happy to collaborate with Winco. Our team will work together to develop products with better performance, sustainability, and safety

Evonik, with its fermentation technology platform, has become the world's first company to industrialize the production of high-quality surfactants using biotechnology. These surfactants are key ingredients in shampoos, shower gels, and household cleaners. Evonik's expertise in biosurfactants and close cooperation with partners have helped fast-moving consumer goods company Unilever develop and launch the world's first new product in the home cleaning industry.
