from Evonik Industrial Group Evonik Xin'an (Zhenjiang) Silicon Materials Co., Ltd., jointly invested with Zhejiang Xin'an Chemical Group in China, announced that its gas-phase silicon dioxide factory located in the New Materials Industrial Park of Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, has officially started construction.More than 100 employees, partners, political representatives, and news media from Evonik and Xin'an attended the factory groundbreaking ceremony held on December 10th. The new factory will use AEROSIL® Produce gas-phase silica for the brand to meet the needs of industrial markets such as silicone rubber, coatings, adhesives, and colloidal batteries in China. The factory is scheduled to be put into operation in 2021, with a planned annual output of 9000 tons.

The joint venture factory will combine Evonik 's leading product technology with Xin'an's leading organic silicon industry chain, and comprehensively utilize Xin'an's monomer by-products, methyltrichlorosilane and chlorosilane, to produce high value-added gas-phase silica products. At the same time, the by-product hydrochloric acid produced during the production process will also be effectively utilized as a raw material for the Xin'an Zhenjiang block, thereby achieving a green circular economy and leveraging the synergistic effect of balancing organic silicon monomers, chlorosilanes, and gas-phase silica resources.
