Release agent, professional name: release agent (belonging to the chemical "fine chemical" chemical additives). Due to the wide range of applications of release agents, different industries, processes, and manufacturing methods have different types of release agents.
Release agent, also known as mold release agent, some are called mold release water, milk water (because it is milky white), as well as mold release oil, mold release paste, mold release powder, and other different names.

The function of release agent:

1. Superior demolding performance; Firstly, after spraying the release agent, a film is formed inside the mold to protect it;

2. Excellent high temperature resistance and good cooling effect; When injecting raw materials into the mold, the melted raw materials have high problems. Release agents can withstand high temperatures and also have cooling effects; During production, it is a continuous process where the mold constantly comes into contact with high-temperature melted raw materials, causing the mold temperature to rise. This can lead to problems, defects, cracks, burns, non conformities, and even issues with the adhesive film in the produced products. Continuous high temperatures at the same time can also damage the mold and reduce its lifespan.

3. Good lubrication and fluidity, no carbon deposits, no mold scale, and no formation of oxide skin; The product is formed in the mold, and the release agent needs to be protected for smooth molding, with a complete and defect free surface and pores, which tests the quality and effectiveness of the release agent. It should have good lubricity, fluidity, and no residue that may cause carbon deposition in the mold or product.

4. After molding, smoothly demold and remove the product. During the production process, release agents must have the above characteristics, as well as considerations for subsequent processing, polishing, electroplating, painting, and most importantly, environmental protection issues. They must not produce smoke, toxic gases, or pollute the air and water.

Instructions for using release agents:

According to different materials, manufacturers, and production processes, the current usage method of release agents is as follows:

1. Automatic spraying and manual spray gun spraying

2. Brush coating, evenly apply the release agent to the mold with a brush

3. Oil and water-based release agents should be dried or blown dry before injecting raw materials, and some can be directly wiped dry with a cloth

4. The filled dry and neutral release agents are shaken and sprayed directly onto the mold.
